What Aulona Insurance Group places, and how
Aulona Insurance Group places auto, home and business coverage for Texas clients in 50 cities, quoted on a recorded call with a licensed agent, in English or Albanian. The agency holds appointments with more than one insurer and takes each client’s risk to the insurers whose appetite fits it.
Three things follow from that structure:
- The agency, not the insurer, is the party the client deals with from the first call through the renewal
- The agency is paid a commission by the insurer that ends up writing the policy
- The agency can offer only the insurers it holds appointments with, which is a shorter list than the market
The agency does not quote insurers it does not represent. That is a limit, not a selling point, and it is worth knowing before the first call.
What holding an appointment with an insurer means
An appointment is the written agreement between an insurer and an agency that lets the agency submit applications to that insurer and, inside the authority the agreement states, bind coverage.
Three points about appointments:
- An appointment is made insurer by insurer, so an agency’s list of markets is the list of agreements it holds
- Commission on a placed policy is paid by the insurer that writes it, under the terms of that appointment
- A risk outside an insurer’s filed appetite is declined by that insurer whether or not the appointment exists
Aulona Insurance Group submits a Texas risk only to insurers it holds appointments with. A risk none of them will write is one the agency says no to on the call, rather than after an application has gone out.
What Aulona Insurance Group places in Texas
Aulona Insurance Group places personal and commercial coverage across three lines, for Texas residents and Texas businesses only.
Personal auto, statewide:
- Standard and non-standard risk, owned, financed or leased
- SR-22 filings under Texas Transportation Code ch. 601, filed with the Texas Department of Public Safety
Home and property:
- Coastal homeowners in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 coastal counties, dwelling fire, condo, renters and landlord policies
- Flood through the National Flood Insurance Program, and personal umbrella coverage above the home and auto liability limits
Business:
- Business owners policy, general liability, commercial property, workers compensation, professional liability, umbrella and commercial auto
How Aulona Insurance Group is licensed, and how to check it
Aulona Insurance Group LLC holds Texas Agency License #3481412 and agency NPN 22184980, and both numbers are public records a buyer can verify without asking the agency.
Where to check:
- The Texas Department of Insurance agent and agency lookup, which returns the license status for an agency or an individual agent
- The Texas Department of Insurance consumer help line, 1-800-252-3439, and tdi.texas.gov, for a complaint history or a question about a policy
Aulona Insurance Group is a member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas and carries the Trusted Choice affiliation. Membership in a trade association is not an insurer, a rating or an endorsement of any policy. Check the license number. That is the record that matters.
Where Aulona Insurance Group works, and in what languages
Aulona Insurance Group writes Texas risks only, whatever the line, from one office in Plano, in Collin County. Mailing address: 4100 Eldorado Pkwy, Ste. 100/408, McKinney, TX 75070.
Two practical points:
- A prospect who lives outside Texas cannot be served, whatever the line, and the conversation stops there
- No client has to come to the Plano office, because placement runs on the phone from anywhere in the state
Luka Cenaj, the agency’s principal and a licensed Texas agent, takes calls in English and Albanian, and the whole placement, including the coverage conversation and the questions an underwriter sends back, can run in either language. Those are the only two languages the agency works in.
How placement works through Aulona Insurance Group
Aulona Insurance Group runs the same three steps on each line, and no pricing is shown at any point before the call.
- Answer eight questions on the quote form, which takes about two minutes and ends with a one-time code texted to your mobile number. A commercial account or anyone who prefers to talk first can leave a name and number for a callback instead, or call (945) 600-6008.
- Take the call from Luka Cenaj, who goes through the vehicles, the property or the operation on a recorded call.
- Let Aulona Insurance Group take the risk to the insurers it holds appointments with.
Nothing is quoted and nothing is bound without that call.
Where Aulona Insurance Group is not the right fit on personal lines
Aulona Insurance Group cannot place every Texas personal risk, and says so before a submission goes out.
Auto, not placed: a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $150,000 or more, anything built before 1981 or without a seventeen-digit VIN, recreational vehicles, all-terrain vehicles, trailers, golf carts, buses, hearses, heavy and semi trucks, storage-only, gap-only, and non-owner policies except a non-owner SR-22.
A vehicle used for business, or titled to an LLC, corporation, partnership or trust, is not written on a personal auto policy. Aulona Insurance Group places it as commercial auto instead. See Commercial Auto Insurance in Texas.
Home, not placed: surplus-lines risks. Preferred inland owner-occupied homeowners coverage in the Dallas and Fort Worth suburbs is a weak market for the agency, and the agency says so before an application is taken.
Where Aulona Insurance Group is not the right fit on business lines
Aulona Insurance Group runs a small-business program with stated size and loss limits, and an account outside them is turned away before a submission goes out.
Business, not placed: annual revenue or W-2 payroll above $5 million; loss history above $20,000 or more than two incidents in three years, a prior cancellation or bankruptcy.
On the business owners policy, general liability, commercial property and professional liability lines, these classes have no market at the agency: roofing and siding, night clubs, gas stations, towing operators, auto dealerships, hospitals and physician practices, cannabis, used-goods dealers and non-durable goods wholesalers, livestock operations and pet breeders.
Workers compensation runs through its own market and is not limited by the revenue and payroll figures above. Life, health, Medicare and disability are not written at all.
What moves the price when an independent agency places coverage
The premium on a Texas policy is set by the insurer that writes it, from rates that insurer has filed with the Texas Department of Insurance. An agency does not set the number and cannot discount it.
What the agency does change:
- Which insurers see the risk at all, since a submission only reaches the markets the agency holds
- How the risk is presented, meaning the loss runs, the coverage detail and the explanation behind a past claim
- Which coverages, limits and deductibles are on the application in the first place
Aulona Insurance Group publishes no premium on this site and does not rank insurers. The number comes from the insurer that agrees to write the risk, after the call with Luka Cenaj.
What an independent agency does after the policy is placed
Aulona Insurance Group’s work on an account continues past the binder, because a Texas policy changes more often than it renews.
The recurring work:
- Mid-term changes: a new vehicle, a new driver, a new location, a new employee on payroll
- Certificates of insurance for commercial clients, issued against what the policy says rather than what a contract asked for
- Renewal review, where the coverage is checked against what the business or household looks like now
- Claim reporting, which goes to the insurer that has to handle it, with the agency pointing the client to the right place
Every one of those runs by phone. No visit to the Plano office is required for any of it.
