What auto insurance covers for a Laredo driver
Texas Transportation Code §601.072 sets the liability floor for a Laredo driver at 30/60/25, and the Texas Auto Insurance page works through that floor, personal injury protection (PIP) under Texas Insurance Code §1952.152, and the uninsured motorist offer under Texas Insurance Code §1952.101.
A Texas auto policy also stops at the river, because the Texas Department of Insurance tells drivers that Texas coverage does not follow a vehicle into Mexico and that a Mexican liability policy is bought separately.
FEMA has listed the City of Laredo in the National Flood Insurance Program’s regular phase since May 17, 1982 as community 480651, with the Laredo flood insurance rate map in force dated April 2, 2008. Rain water inside a Laredo vehicle is a comprehensive claim, because that program never covers one.
Which county a Laredo address rates in
Laredo is the seat of Webb County, and the whole city sits inside that one county, per Webb County.
Texas Insurance Code §2253.001 stops an insurer that subdivides a county into rating territories from charging any subdivision more than 15 percent above another for identical coverage, and 28 TAC §5.9960 lets it exceed that only on a rate that is actuarially sound and supported by data filed with the Texas Department of Insurance.
One county does not mean one rate. A filing may still split Webb County, so a vehicle garaged off Del Mar Boulevard and a vehicle garaged in south Laredo can rate differently on the same make of car with the same record. The Webb County Appraisal District appraises both.
Give the garaging address, not the mailing address.
Uninsured drivers, freight and heat on a Laredo auto policy
Uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage is the coverage a Laredo driver should weigh hardest. Texas Insurance Code §1952.101 requires every insurer to offer it, and a driver goes without it only by signing a written rejection.
No share of uninsured Webb County drivers appears on this page, because Aulona Insurance Group publishes no figure it has not taken from a named source. The coverage pays two things the at-fault driver cannot:
- Injuries to the policyholder and the passengers
- Damage to the policyholder’s own vehicle, above a small deductible
Laredo traffic is freight traffic, because Interstate 35 begins in Laredo and runs north from there, and the heat advisories the National Weather Service Corpus Christi forecast office issues for Webb County answer nothing on a policy. A battery or a tire that gives out in August is wear, not a covered loss.
What Aulona Insurance Group places for Laredo drivers
Aulona Insurance Group places personal auto for Laredo drivers under Texas Agency License #3481412, for clean records and for records carrying tickets, at-fault accidents or a lapse, and the Texas Auto Insurance page holds the complete list.
Webb County households often list several drivers against several vehicles, teenage drivers on a parent’s policy among them, and the uninsured motorist decision sits on top of all of them.
Luka Cenaj, the agency’s licensed principal, goes through the coverage on a recorded call before anything binds, and a Laredo risk goes to an appointed market or nowhere.
Where Aulona Insurance Group is not the right fit
Aulona Insurance Group holds no market for a Laredo vehicle at $150,000 or more in manufacturer’s suggested retail price, one built before 1981, one without a seventeen-digit VIN, a recreational vehicle, all-terrain vehicle, trailer, golf cart, bus, hearse or heavy truck, a storage-only or gap-only policy, or a post office box garaging address.
Those exclusions matter on a freight corridor, where a pickup that hauls for pay is a commercial auto risk rather than a personal one.
Non-owner policies are declined except a non-owner SR-22 for a listed driver. A vehicle used for business, or titled to an LLC, corporation, partnership or trust, is not written on a personal auto policy. Aulona Insurance Group places it as commercial auto instead. See Commercial Auto Insurance in Texas.
What moves the price of a Laredo auto policy
The premium on a Laredo auto policy is set by the insurer, not by Aulona Insurance Group, and no figure for it appears anywhere on this site.
A Laredo rate reads the driving record, the liability and uninsured motorist choices, and the Webb County territory behind the address:
- The driving record of every listed driver, because a ticket, an at-fault accident or a gap follows the person for years
- How much liability the household buys above 30/60/25
- Whether uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage stays on the policy
- The vehicle’s age, value, and what a Laredo body shop charges to repair it
- The Webb County territory behind the garaging address
Webb County exposure reaches a Laredo rate through the territory filing, not through the driver’s record.
Working with Aulona Insurance Group from Laredo
Aulona Insurance Group works from one office, in Plano, and serves Laredo by phone. No visit to Laredo or to Plano is part of placing coverage.
No Laredo driver has to drive anywhere: eight questions here take about two minutes and end with a one-time code texted to your mobile number.
Luka Cenaj calls from there, goes through every vehicle, every driver in the household and the coverage the situation calls for, then takes the risk to the markets the agency holds. Nothing is quoted or bound before that call, and Laredo drivers who would rather speak Albanian can have the whole conversation in Albanian.
